Rhodium Plated Silver Chains
Find tarnish-resistant Rhodium Plated Silver Chains at Silver Chic.
Rhodium plating is a recent jewellery-making technique used by jewellers and manufacturers to prevent the effects of tarnish. It's also used to create an even brighter, sparklier silver look.
Tanish, which can leave silver discoloured and darkened, is one of the only true downsides of silver jewellery. Thankfully, rhodium is tarnish resistant, and its bright white and lustrous appearance makes it the perfect choice for silver jewelleryand silver chains.
Rhodium plating adds durability to curb chains, belcher chains and figaro chains that are you might wear everyday. If you choose rhodium plated women’s and mens silver chains, you’ll love their long lasting shine and brand new appearance.
Don’t forget to check our silver jewellery sale for any silver necklaces or chains on sale. And, we offer Afterpay, so if you want to buy a rhodium plated silver chain now, you can pay later.
What is rhodium plating?
Rhodium plating is a layer of rhodium metal used on silver or white gold that prevents the occurrence of tarnish or corrosion. Because it’s so white and lustrous (rhodium is similar in composition to platinum), it won't change the appearance of silver jewellery.
Rhodium plating is good for improving the durability of your silver, and reducing any build up of tarnish. Just be aware that constant scratching can damage the layer of rhodium and leave your silver susceptible to tarnish and darkening.
Rhodium plating isn’t the same as silver, but is often used on sterling silver jewellery. If you buy rhodium plated jewellery, you can be sure that the piece is almost entirely made from silver.
